Vitality Medi-Spa to deliver an urban experience, more services in bigger location

Popular downtown spa to join mix of retailers, services and restaurants at The Doyle

HALIFAX, NS – Salon Resource Group will be relocating its popular Vitality Medi-Spa to a highly-visible street-level location in The Doyle (currently under construction at the corner of Spring Garden and Queen Street) by fall 2018. The new 4,420-square-foot location will deliver a more modern urban experience and enable Vitality to offer more services to its clientele.

“Our vision is to deliver an even better guest experience and to expand our offering, particularly in Cosmetic Medical and clinical skin care services,” said Salon Resource Group owner and president Peter Mahoney. “We are fulfilling a dream and vision for our Aesthetic Medical Spa to evolve into a full Cosmetic Medical Centre, offering a wider range of services and comprehensive clinical skin care. The new Vitality Medi-Spa will offer better flow, a more relaxing environment for group services like manicures and pedicures and a convenient proximity to where our clients live, work and spend their free time. Plus, there will be easier parking with direct access.”

After over 30 years in Spring Garden Place, the move promises to expose Vitality Medi-Spa to a broader demographic. Mahoney says the goal has always been to make aesthetic services approachable for everyone. Vitality plans to hire three to five experienced stylists and estheticians to accommodate current and new clientele.

“I am extremely excited as we realize the longstanding dream for the new location, to provide our patients with an even better experience and a wider variety of cutting edge medical cosmetic treatments. With fresh, modern décor, a professionally designed layout and more treatment rooms our patients will enjoy an amazing experience and the latest in a wide variety of clinical skin care and cosmetic medical treatments,” said Dr. Renier van Aardt, Vitality’s Cosmetic Physician and President of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine.

Vitality Medi Spa is the only medi spa in Halifax with a dedicated medical aesthetics team. Dr. van Aardt is supported by a team of clinical estheticians, trained laser technicians and Nurse Injector Aundrea Trevors.

“With an urban atmosphere and a broader range of services, we’re looking to attract more Gen Z and Millennials in additional to our current clientele. Locating in The Doyle was a strategic decision to reach more people in a high profile, high traffic downtown location,” Mahoney adds.

Salon Resource Group has worked with Tower Interiors for the floor layout. They are working with BreakHouse for the overall design and customer experience and are currently preparing a tender for the construction portion of the project. Vitality Medi-Spa expects to open the doors to its new location in The Doyle (5504 Doyle Street) by fall 2018. It will continue to provide services in its current location until then.

“Vitality Medi-Spa is an ideal fit for The Doyle, which will provide Halifax residents and visitors alike with a vibrant place to live, dine, shop, and enjoy all the benefits of being in the vibrant downtown core. Stopping by one of the best spas in the city is just another amazing experience we’ll be able to offer,” said Danny Chedrawe, President of Westwood Development Limited.
